The device retains the familiar feature set of the MiniLab series: eight pads, eight endless encoders, four faders, and touch strips for modulation. While the build relies on a lightweight, slightly springy plastic chassis that prioritizes function over aesthetic luxury, it remains resilient enough for life on the road. The inclusion of a full-size five-pin MIDI DIN output ensures it plays nicely with hardware setups beyond a simple laptop connection.

Beyond the extra octave, the layout refinements define the upgrade. Arturia rearranged the interface to be shallower, eliminating the need to reach over pads or navigation strips to adjust parameters. While the tiny screen still makes menu diving tedious, the improved ergonomics and the sheer utility of the expanded keybed make this a standout value.
