AT&T Debuts Three-Dollar Unlimited Daily Data Passes for iPads

For tablet users dodging long-term contracts, AT&T is rolling out a $3 daily pass offering 24 hours of cellular data. The plan requires no subscription or credit check, targeting travelers and remote workers who need immediate, on-demand connectivity for their eSIM-equipped devices without committing to monthly billing cycles.

The carrier is sweetening the launch with a free first-day offer for new users. While the service promises unlimited access, AT&T reserves the right to throttle speeds during periods of high network congestion. This flexibility aims to fill the gap for iPad owners who frequently find themselves without reliable Wi-Fi, providing a plug-and-play solution that bypasses traditional cellular agreements.

Josh Goodell, head of consumer products at AT&T, emphasized the shift toward simplified, on-demand hardware integration. Although the current rollout is restricted to iPads, the company intends to expand the model to 5G-enabled laptops, Android tablets, smartwatches, and drones. Future iterations will likely include extended packages covering weekends or full weeks as the provider moves to capture the occasional-use market.
