Marshall Updates Stockwell Speaker With Replaceable Battery

Double the battery life and a modular design define the new Marshall Stockwell III, which arrives on August 4th for $249.99. Moving beyond its predecessor’s limitations, the portable speaker now features a user-replaceable battery, signaling a pivot toward repairability that aligns with shifting European regulatory standards.

Marshall Updates Stockwell Speaker With Replaceable Battery

The Stockwell III maintains the aesthetic of the 2019 original, retaining the iconic carrying handle and multi-directional sound architecture. Marshall has significantly bolstered the power capacity, pushing performance from 20 hours to over 40 hours of playback. Beyond the internal upgrades, the device functions as a power bank via USB-C and boasts an improved IP55 rating, offering robust protection against dust and water splashes compared to the previous IPX4 standard.

Repairability is the defining feature of this release. Owners can swap out the velvet-lined strap, the logo-branded grills, and the textured silicone sleeve. This modular approach allows users to maintain the speaker’s appearance over time, potentially boosting long-term resale value. Available in black or cream, the unit will be sold through Marshall’s online storefront and Costco.
