Tuesday Labs opens reservations for Voxel home robot

For $20,000, the Voxel Series-1 promises to act as a domestic droid capable of retrieving lost items and decluttering living spaces. New York-based Tuesday Labs has begun taking $200 deposits for the bipedal machine, which is currently slated to begin shipping to early adopters in 2028.

The Voxel features a distinct humanoid silhouette, though it prioritizes function over human-like aesthetics. Its torso houses a suite of stereo RGB cameras and a wide-field lens for room-wide monitoring, while its Z-shaped legs allow the robot to adjust its height to reach kitchen counters and shelving units. Unlike the dexterous, multi-fingered hands found on industrial-grade machines like Boston Dynamics’ Atlas, this bot utilizes seven-degree-of-freedom arms ending in simplified grippers designed for basic retrieval and organization tasks.

While the hardware specifications are granular, the robot's practical utility remains focused on routine chores. Users can task the machine with watering plants or locating misplaced objects, such as a remote control, by querying its internal memory. The company maintains that Voxel will not handle complex caregiving or cooking duties at launch. Whether the ability to track household items justifies a five-figure investment remains a question that will only be answered once the Series-1 moves from the design studio into actual living rooms four years from now.
