Control Risks has appointed Chris Holt as global head of advisory and risk consulting. Holt brings two decades of experience in crisis management and resilience, having previously served as a British Army officer and founded a specialist Lloyd's of London insurance broker. In his new capacity, he will manage an international team focused on protecting corporate assets and reputation across volatile global markets. Jackie Day, managing partner of global security, noted that Holt’s background provides the firm with a rare combination of commercial acumen and operational expertise.
Simultaneously, London-based Amber River has expanded its central leadership team by hiring Rick Lowe as chief financial officer and Andrew Hunter as chief governance officer. Lowe, formerly of Schroders Greencoat, succeeds retiring co-founder Simon Brunt. Hunter joins from Brown & Brown Europe to consolidate the firm's compliance, legal, and risk functions. Group CEO Mary-Anne McIntyre stated that these additions are intended to support the company’s growth ambitions while maintaining a focus on corporate culture.
