CrossPoint Reader brings Libby support to Xteink e-readers

The integration marks a significant shift for users of the X3, X4, and X4 Pro models. Previously, owners were forced to source their own libraries independently, bypassing the seamless ecosystems found on competitors like Kobo or Kindle. By installing the community-developed CrossPoint firmware, users can now bypass the restrictive stock software to manage DRM-protected content purchased from Kobo or borrowed through OverDrive.

While the functionality remains in beta, it is currently accessible to any user willing to flash their device. The process requires connecting the e-reader to a computer via USB-C to replace the factory firmware. Although the workflow lacks the polished, native integration of mainstream tablets, it offers a functional alternative for those comfortable with basic file management. This update transforms the Xteink hardware from a manual-transfer device into a viable reader for modern digital library services.
